🌱 Teachers transforming teachers 🌱

Image
Transformation will happen when teachers walk together 👣 Over time, I’ve come to deeply believe that transformation within the education system must be led by teachers—and happen through teachers walking together. To create an inclusive and thriving teaching community, we must reach not just the few who lead from the front but also those who often fall at the far end of the bell curve—teachers who may feel unheard or unseen in the process of change. Many educators who are already making a deep impact in students’ lives often struggle to play a similar role in the lives of their fellow teachers. This is where the real shift lies. They need to rediscover their ‘why’ , reconnect with their purpose, and empower themselves through life skills —so they can extend that empowerment to others. When teachers walk together—with empathy, intention, and support—they co-create safe spaces , strengthen each other, and build collective capacity. Let’s reimagine professional development n...

Bringing Life Back into Teacher Training

✨ Bringing Life Back into Teacher Training ✨ By: Pawan Chaturvedi Can you recall three teachers from your school days who made you feel supported, trusted, and safe? Take a moment to remember them—and if possible, express your gratitude. When we think of a teacher, we often remember those who showed us care, built trust, encouraged us, and made us feel seen—not just those who taught well. This shows us something profound: Children value emotional connection more than just subject expertise. Yet, in most teacher trainings—including those under the FLN mission—the focus is still heavily on academic outcomes. While documents mention health, well-being, and socio-emotional domains, these often don’t find meaningful space in the training room. Even when included, teachers rarely get to experience them. #FLN #TeacherDevelopment #EducationReform We need to ask deeper questions: Are our trainings helping teachers feel ? Are they safe spaces for imagination and honest questions? ...

From Within and Without: A Journey of Growth, Grounding, and Perspective Shifts

From Within and Without: A Journey of Growth, Grounding, and Perspective Shifts Last year unfolded as a mosaic of opportunities, challenges, and deep personal transformation for myself. While a few moments may have slipped through the cracks, the path I walked was rich with purpose and learning. I found myself designing and executing meaningful interventions in Punjab and Delhi , and supporting Uttarakhand with training design, facilitation, state plans, research, and career counseling initiatives. Each experience added layers to my growth—not just as a professional, but as a person deeply committed to the system. In Punjab , I stepped into an unofficial leadership role, drawing on my learnings from Anandam . Navigating the initial resistance from stakeholders was tough. They struggled to see the relevance of life skills training. But instead of pushing harder, I chose to listen—really listen. I heard their concerns, acknowledged their context, and then gently held up a mirror u...

Bridging the Gaps in Education: Connecting Policymakers, Teachers, and Students

Bridging the Gaps in Education: Connecting Policymakers, Teachers, and Students ✨📚 In our education system, a teacher acts as a bridge 🌉 between administrators and students. Similarly, administrators serve as a bridge between teachers and policymakers. However, what seems to be missing is a direct engagement of policymakers with students—young people and young adults—who are at the heart ❤️ of education. #EducationMatters 🔗 Bridging Policymakers and Students 🎤 Policies are often designed with students in mind, yet their voices 🗣️ are rarely part of the decision-making process. How can policymakers interact directly with students to understand their aspirations, struggles, and needs? We need structured dialogues 🏫 where young voices are heard, acknowledged, and actively shape educational reforms. #StudentVoicesMatter 📢 Creating Platforms for Teachers and Policymakers Teachers are the closest to ground realities; they understand what works in a classroom and what doesn’t. ...
